In today's lesson, the main objective was to create a basic 3D environment in Unity. Firstly, we looked at the terrain tools, and how could be used. We initially implemented a 3D object, called 'Terrain', which added in the object to our scene. Following this, we looked at the terrain tools which could be used to change the overall appearance of the terrain, by adding hills/mountains. The specifics of these could also be changed, from the brush size, opacity and texture of the brush. In addition to this, we also looked at adding textures, such as rock and grass, which could be achieved by downloading the textures from asset packs. Moreover, by using the terrain tool, it also enabled us to add in trees to our scene.
As well as using the terrain tool, we looked at how we could use the camera for, 1st person, 3rd person and in the instance of a car. For 1st person, we imported a camera to our scene and dropped it on the environment, whereabouts we wanted the game to start.
